My Maths for to day (:

Nevaeh says that a square is the same shape as a rectangle? Do you agree or disagree? Justify your thinking.

How many squares and rectangles can you see on this ngatu design?

Eddie says that he can only see one quadrilateral on this ngatu design. John says that he can see more than one. Who do you agree with? Justify your thinking.

Neveah says that a square is the same shape as a rectangle? Do you agree or disagree? I agree because a rectangle is like a square but it’s just stretched out and that’s how it makes the rectangle long.

How many rectangles and squares can you see on this ngatu design?

There are 6 squares because when you look at the sides there are squares and in the middle there is a black line and that line makes a rectangle.

Eddie says that he can only see one quadrilateral on this ngatu design. John says that he can see more than one. Who do you agree with?

I think there are 40 sides because outside there are sides and in side there are sides I counted each side and it led me to 40 so I will agree with John.

About Christ the Redeemer

Read the story  Christ Redeemer, Portuguese Cristo Redentor, Colossal statue of Jesus Christ at the summit of Mount Corcovado, Rio de Janeiro, southeastern Brazil. The statue of Christ the Redeemer was completed in 1931 and stands 98 feet (30 meters) tall, it’s horizontally outstretched arms spanning 92 feet (28 meters). Christ Redeemer is one of the largest statues of Jesus and the tallest art deco statue in the world. Christ the Redeemer reaches a height of 30 metres and boasts an arms span of 28 metres. Christ the Redeemer was added to the Seven Wonders of the Modern World because a panel of experts felt it qualified to be nominated based on predetermined criteria and the public then voted to add the statue to the list.
